I am an old white woman and there is some rap, hip hop, and R&B that I like very much. When my son was young and he and I were running all over for his sports games, he was the DJ in my car. I guess I got used to hearing it during that time and learned to appreciate some of the wordsmith skills involved.
But, my taste in music is all over the place. As a kid I was exposed to multiple styles of music, not the least of which was the Motown sound.
Blues influenced music is a favorite. My first husband loved Southern Rock. My parents listened to everything the 60s and 70s had to offer. I am not a music scholar, there is music from most genres that I like and some that I don't care for.
I don't overthink where the music came from. If I like it, I like it.

Roseanne is an old white woman (older than you) but she's into Hip Hop and makes white-trash rap songs.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It can be interesting to see the primordial ooze of popular music to see how many different types of music and their cultures can be visible. Like going into the Harry Smith Anthology and seeing how permeable the line between folk, country, and blues used to be. And how Irish songs wound up in the mix.
I can remember hearing Boru balk at the idea that Irish music was a formative influence on country music, but it makes a lot more sense if you start from the 1920s and 1930s than, say, Garth Brooks.

Rap pulls in a lot of influences from many genres over a wide span of time. Like any genre, some is good, and the wider swath is shit.

I'm sure there are some "hip hop" songs I liked when I heard them, but generally I don't go out of my way to listen to it.
I'm more of a pop and dance type listener.

For what it's worth, if we want better examples of early white people rap, look no further than Blondie:
No, I'm not kidding. It was the first rap song to hit #1 on the Hot 100, and the next one would be "Ice Ice Baby."
