Asimov's "Foundation"
Never read the books, but I recently discovered there's a telly series.

It's currently rated at an 87%, with mixed reviews.

Have you seen it? What's your opinion?

Haven’t seen it, didn’t care much for the books.

I liked the Foundation book that I read. He's a good storyteller. The main criticism, if any, is that his writing is rather dry.

I like most of his stuff (especially the robotic stories), I just thought the Foundation series kind of dragged.

I read the books a very long time ago, tbh didn't make a big impression on me

I read the Foundation books as a teenager, I think. They were a bit of a slog but I enjoyed them. Haven't seen any of the TV series, but I've heard of it.

The show is decent.

RE: Asimov's "Foundation"
I read the first series of books decades ago. Asimov was smart as hell, and his writing was pretty cerebral. By the time I'd aged a few decades, I'd gotten to where the logical twists and turns in his stories put me off. He was a force, in his time.

That said, my wife is watching some horror movie where some people were talking about some fungus that was getting out of control. First, they pronounced the plural as "fungee". I guess in some places in the world, that's correct. But they then went into a whole spiel about how fungee can't live above 94° Fahrenheit. My (potential) crotch rot and any woman's yeast infection would like to have a work with the writers. Factual shit ain't that hard.
