Bobiverse
Anyone here read the Bobiverse novels?

For those unfamiliar, it's a series of now 5 books about a rich computer nerd who contracted to have himself frozen after death - just before he is run over by a truck at a Las Vegas science fiction convention. He is reanimated in the 2150s as a computer and is placed in a Von Neuman probe to explore the stars. It's definitely pop science fiction and is filled with nerd references. It has a strong cult following and is said to be very popular among tech billionaires.

Just one? I'm surprised. I expected there would be several Bob Heads here.

A minor spoiler:

The United States becomes a theocracy after a Christian fundamentalist is elected President in 2036. He is such a disaster that an atheist is elected in 2040. Unfortunately, the incumbent pulls off a January 6th-style coup and the US becomes the Free American Independent Theocratic Hegemony (FAITH). The original Bobiverse book was published in 2015, more than a year before Trump.

I've read, or should I say listened to, the first book in the series. It's about a guy who wakes up as a spaceship and then travels the universe and seeds live that evolves while being in conflict with other ships... What does he do in the sequels? Does he become human again?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
