loss of connectivity

Over the last week, I have experienced loss of internet connection every day. The issue has been resolved each time by turning everything off for a few minutes then rebooting.
I tried using another box for a day;same problem.
Checked with my ISP; no outages. My phone line works fine even if I can't get on line.
I'm using a D-link ADSL2 modem, model DSL-504T. H/W ver:C3. It's about 2 years old,no problems before. I'm thinking it might be a firmware problem.
Going to the D-link page, I found this, which confused me:
Where might the file be found? Nothing in programme files. Will I need to create one?
Does anyone know how/where I access the D-link log for my router?

Quote:Firmware Upgrade
There may be new firmware for your DSL-504T to improve functionality and performance. To upgrade the firmware, locate the upgrade file on the local hard drive with the Browse button . Once you have found the file to be used, click the Apply button below to start the firmware upgrade.
