Pffft. No one here (in the U.S.) pays any attention to these pageants. The media hardly even reports on them anymore. Do I agree with the one from my state? I doubt it, but I can't be bothered to check.

Sorry to say if they asked about evolution to potential Miss U.K's half of them wouldn't even understand what was being asked!
How do these " contests " persist????
A man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

I should of put this post in the off topic or humor section. My bad.
I too don't understand why these sort of things live on in this day and age. It's utterly ridiculous to me.

If you can do something to make money in the U.S., no matter how illogical, degrading, redundant, outdated, gratuitous, wasteful, or stupid, it will be done.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Miss Arizona was surprisingly balanced, coming from a Mormon overrun state.
The sad thing is that these girls will all breed.

Is evolution not taught in schools in the U.S.A.???
"Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds."
Einstein
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life.

In the district I just left, it was not allowed to be taught outright, but given as a theory side by side with the theory of creation.
Yep, fucked up and still in the middle ages.
