Frodo this is where you go wrong.The argument is centered on the truth of the oral traditions and not on the bible at the moment.I highly doubt that you can maintain the integrity of myths totally based on oral traditions which is clearly demonstrated in the game of chinese whispers.Regarding the recitation of the Pentateuch that is no small feat but the followers of Islam are required to memorize the entire Koran,once again your assumptions prove nothing.All that shows is how dedicated one can be to his religious beliefs and convictions.

1.The bible is based entirely on plagiarised pagan myths.
2.The original texts are no longer in existence.
3.The authors whose names appear on many of those biblical books Old and New testament were not actually written by the persons they were attributed to.
4.The bible has been "lost in translation" due to mistranslation or at times the scribes own personal beliefs or agendas.
5.The bible is full of blatant contradictions in it's narrative of its many tales.
6.The bible was written during a pre-scientific era thus explaining why religion has fallen short when it comes to scientific truths and discoveries as compared to those that have been 'divinely revealed'.
7.It is literally impossible to trace the life of the historical Jesus since the 4 gospels and thier telling of his story seem like 4 different stories about 4 different people.
Finally,all of this can be researched and found to be factual statements if done objectively.

THose gospels in the books like the gospel of Matthew, the gospel of Mark and so one is not really persons. But hebrewic ethnic groups. That atleast what I've heared.

My point is that they were not written by the people whose names are attached to them.You might be right about their being more than one author for the books since the entire bible is written by a large group of authors.And not all of them have been identified.

I deny that I have to keep my mind open to 'challenge my disbelief' by reading the bible...

Why? Because I don't have to read the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster to reject the FSM! Do I(?)!

Shit, I haven't got time to 'challenge by disbelief' that way with regards to God...when I've got the FSM, Zeus, Russell's Teapot, the Tooth Fairy and Father Christmas and much much MUCH more to deal with as well!! There's no fucking time!

No I don't have to read the bible to reject "God" just as I don't have to read the Gospel of the FSM (or whatever else) the reject the Flying Spaghetti Monster (or whatever else)

I can't be challenging my belief that way about "God" because that's ONE God. I've got a near infinite number of undisprovable bullshit to deal with that ALSO entirely lacks evidence too!

Basically as I said: I can't be challenging my absence of belief in "God" when I've got the FSM, Zeus, Santa Claus - etc, etc, etc, etc, ETC - to deal with too!! There's just no fucking time!

Prove to us that it is. In fact, prove to us that any significant biblical stories are true without reverting to the Bible itself as a source of proof.
