The only thing that I can see which separates Paul from the other lunatics looking from the nomination is that he is ostensibly not a war-mongering bastard.

General Electric owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. They are also a multi-billion dollar defense contractor and who knows how many subsidiaries they own which are sucking on the same tit? Is it really that hard to figure this all out?

The issue here is one of media fairness. Fucked up as he is, Paul barely came in second to an equally fucked up Bachmann and that should be covered because it is important for eveyone to know just how fucking crazy the republicolibertarianazis are.

Stewart is epic

It's pretty typical for the media to all but silence Paul, plenty of reasons why that could be but for one his anti-war policies would hurt a big source of the warmongers ratings, that and the corporations who own the mainstream media benefit massively from government backing, another thing that would end if Paul had any real power.

I'm a little surprised at how well he is doing considering the relative lack of publicity he gets.

For one day at least Stewart managed to set off a media firestorm about the issue. They have carefully crafted the "free press" image to the point where they just hate it when anyone points out that they are nothing but whores who perform for their masters.

Brainstorming:

US Gov offers me a bounty for pirates, I collect, I keep collecting until no pirates are left. I then use a small portion of the proceeds to buy a ship and crew, which I then order to commit piracy. I collect this bounty as well.

Rinse and Repeat ad infinitum.

Just gives the pirates the money directly. That's why letters of marque fell out of favor in the first place, so much room for collusion and corruption. You are essentially paying people to attack others instead of yourself. All that being said, if it were a career oppurtunity at the next job fair, I'd jump on a ground floor position, because that would be a hell on an industry to get in on at the start.
