Organ Donation?
#11
RE: Organ Donation?
Australia has one of the world's lowest rates of organ donation in the world.

About 2 years ago, some politician suggested organ donation be made the legal default position.
A person would be required to register refusal.

That was the last I heard of what I think is a most sensible suggestion. But then I also think dead bodies should be mulched...Wink Shades

RE: Organ Donation?
If a faceoff type scenario occurs after my death, i believe the chances of my friends or relatives meeting a Nicolas Cage with my face are quite slim. Therefore I see no reason logical or sympathetical why they can't take the lot.

I would like my brain to go to science, as I can think of no way a doctor would use it in a transplant anyway.

I'm in the minority then.

Doesn't really bother me, though I can understand where Kyuu's coming from. If it were an open casket funeral, then you'd hardly want a body in there missing chunks here and there. But I suppose if you were an organ donor, you could opt for a cremation and make sure your close relatives knew what to do on the occasion of your death.

I'd be a little uncomfortable with the brain though. Just the thought of 'me' being used in science. Seems kind of weird. Though I know it's ridiculous to think it's anything more than physical matter and energy.

I would at least want a face for the funeral I think. but everything else would hopefully help someone else Smile

Haha, I guess it would be funny to see some random person walking around with your deceased loved one's face on.

Actually I imagine that it would be quite distressing.
