Theist "You are Evidence" argument.

I always get this one in a debate. I ask them for evidence and they tell me "You are evidence"! How would someone combat this one?

Not hard at all, and there are different versions of this even outside using humans as an example.

It really basically amounts to "It's pretty", "Or its complex" or " it's amazing" so "God did it".

I once had a co worker who was Jewish point up to the nighttime sky on a brake out in the parking lot and he pointed up and said "Well look at that, isn't that beautiful? There is your evidence."

To which I responded, "If you think it is so pretty, take a space shuttle up to orbit, take a space walk and take your helmet off, you'll find out how pretty it is."

Humans are simply another form of falling for a false sense of awe. They either say we are beautiful, or too complex to simply be a product of nature only.

The problem is we also share the same eating breathing tube which means we can choke to death while eating. I'd hardly call that design. And considering how cruel humans can be to each other, while you can find empathy and even physical beauty in our species, we most certainly ARE NOT pretty or kind 100% of the time.

Not to mention there are other species that are far better at reproduction, like cockroaches, which the common one lays 15 at a time, and another species of cockroach lays 50, not to mention they have been around far longer than humans.

Eagles have better eyesight than humans. And the Giraffe has a superfluous nerve that goes from one ear, all the way down the neck and back up to the other ear. And the human appendix, nipples on men. 

It really boils down to falling for their emotions and sense of awe. It is simply a projection of their own desire to be important to all this.

Certainly there ARE lots of beautiful and awe inspiring things in life and the universe, but none of them need a magical answer or fictional sky hero to explain. There also are lots of nasty things in life and the universe too.
