I do remain amazed these days, however, even deep in areas with no cell service, if I'm moving around, a text message will usually penetrate pretty quickly.
I'll also admit the last harvest was done (on my part at least) with hardly any CB radio use. Cell phone and texting is better, actually. A text message from the Co-op regarding grain condition issues is unambiguous, with scratchy sound and very limited range, CB radio never was very good, but when it was all we had we thought it was great.
