It seems you all are the ones making it overly political by pretending that you're just so consumed with the fear and concern, and trying to shame sane, rational people into going along with the narrative; demanding that people must conform to the same levels of fear and compliance considered reasonable in response to the earliest models.
You all sound desperate and deranged when you talk like this.
It's very disturbing.
I'm convinced that some of you guys could be moved to condone some pretty horrific shit in the name of "the collective good".
And if you know me at all---you know I won't be guilted or gaslighted into cosigning any such shit.
I don't understand why it's such an imposition to wear a mask.
Maybe you're healthy like me and not particularly worried about getting the COVID. Congrats. Why not wear a mask to help protect others though?
Seems like a really pointless hill to die on... figuratively speaking.
Already had it.
I wear a mask at work administering care to others and when in close proximity to friends, family members or strangers who are or may be high risk.
But no, I do not don a mask the moment I exit my front door, while driving in my car, while simply walking outside, or shopping by my lonesome in an uncrowded store.
I don't do virtue signaling, and it's not my job to validate others' fear and hysteria by depriving myself of unencumbered breathing and fresh air every minute I'm outside my home. That is unreasonable, as far I'm concerned. I won't do it.
If I have a cough, cold or flu-like symptoms I'll happily wear a mask while out and about, no problem--or better yet, IMO, stay home.

Rather than expect that everyone (including all WELL people) must "protect" you from the viruses of this world by forfeiting their right to breath to breath normally and identify each other, you should probably just continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines and perhaps consider wearing a fitted N95 mask (without the valve). It keeping viruses from going either direction and is quite effective in protecting the wearer.
