With certain exceptions, that's pretty much the case regardless of the topic being discussed. The best we can expect is circumlocutious buffoonery.

Uh, you need to get out more. When it's suggested that sexuality is a choice, it usually takes about ten seconds before someone responds, "When did you choose to be straight?" Your argument has been a stock argument for some time.

I guess the plan is to avoid answering the question enough times for you to dismiss the question as 'stock'.
