The biblical God floods planets to the mountaintops, sends improbable plagues, parts seas, stops the sun in the sky, and so forth. The current God sends his son and mistress to make appearances on toast. If the old one was still around, his violations of the laws of physics would be apparent to science. But as soon as we have a way of knowing whether miracle stories are actually true, they dry up when ever a scientist comes near. There's a logical explanation for that.
