What you call the quran is a filtered, transformed collection of hearsay stories and sayings that were and are impossible to trace to the prophet. Far worse than second-hand information, orally transferred, the parts from time to time were collected and filtered on grounds and criterions unclear to us since it was deliberately shielded from historical investigation by calling for the destruction of all previous versions and parts. Not to mention the diffulties of ambiguity found in the arabic spelling of these times. Not a single inscription on the ka'aba is found in its literal form in the quran! Also there is no chronologic order in the quaran but stories are presented in order of length, a clear indication that some coherence was lost in the transfer.
Notwithstanding all the problems involving the canonization of the quran by mere mortals that lived long after the prohet, your belief convulsively tries to uphold the myth that there was unaltered, direct, straightforward transfer. It believes it must uphold this myth to preserve its reliability and it exerts strong pressure on everyone attempting to an unbiased historical research on the authenticity of the quaran. As a result this unbiased research is yet in its infancy, yet it is resoundingly clear among these researches that the myth is nothing but a myth. The rigidity of the biased keepers of the quaran shows the insecureness of islam on the authenticity they claim. If the straight transfer from source to quran really is no problem at all than unbiased research would present no obstacle but surely lead to confirmation.
I do not doubt the existence of the prophet. And I do not want to side with the gratuite ad hominem attacks you have been exposed to here but I urge you to look beyond the boundaries of social pressure, religious coercion and biased opinion and to sincerely ask yourself if this claim of unaltered transfer has any scientific, verifiable, unbiased, historical ground.
