Jehovah Witness: Thank you Mr. FatAndFaithless, we miss her, but we gain solace in that she is in heaven with Yahweh god.
Minor correction, from a former JW: the parents of the child would not express the belief that she was in heaven with God. They would expect God to resurrect her after the world was remade as a paradise following Armageddon. The rest is, sadly, true. And sadder still considering that the Watchtower Society has changed their stance on the 'blood issue' to allow everything except the transfusion of whole blood. It's as if they realize that the view is untenable, but can't just walk it back. And if people have to die as a result...
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
