when I have kids some day I will simply raise them with love and discipline and all the things needed to raise a child. Religion is not needed therefore I will not have us attend any service or discuss god because there is no need. I will tell them early on we all have our own choices and beliefs and to not let others bring them down. I will tell them they do not need to say 'under god' when saluting the flag and things of that nature. When religion is brought up- 'Mommy, Jack said there's a person called god who watches over us' I'll simply say certain families believe certain things. But in this household we do not pray to any deity and that no one really has the right answers. I will want them to not be afraid to ask questions and to again, not let others make them feel like they are wrong or their beliefs don't matter. I think one of the most important things out there anyone can do is feel okay to wonder about life and be okay that perhaps, you may be wrong. Just live your life as best you can and be a good person to the world. As long as you do that you deserve to go to an afterlife.
In short, I want them to believe in what I do, to an extent. I want to have them atheists their whole life without shoving it down their throats. I would just be worried one day they would believe in god. I don't know what I would do about that. Thankfully I have plenty of time to think about it lol.
