Well, most of English derives from Latin, Greek, French and German (so ultimately Latin in those cases), with healthy dashes of Imperial imports for colour (most notably Indian - this allows one to wear jodhpurs if you're doolally, for instance). Kudosturbation, like television, would be the illegitimate hybrid offspring of a drunken and regrettable liaison between Greek and Latin.
