Score one for dark matter

Score one for dark matter
The Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) Lensing Survey has released the largest map to date of dark matter. The map is 100 times larger than previous attempts. The team worked for 5 years and imaged 10 million galaxies at distances up to 6 billion light years using the CFHT’s 340 megapixel camera. Then they analyzed the weak gravitational lensing effect to produce a map of the spatial distribution of the dark matter. The results are in line with existing simulations of the evolution of the universe.

Now we just need to know what the fuck is producing this effect Tongue I don't see this new data supporting anything more than the premise that Dark Matter is about 1/4 of the mass of the universe.

Impressive work. There may be a long way still to go but the inhabitants of this tiny pale blue dot have certainly come a long way in the last couple of centuries.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

But...

Apparently he fucked up the dark matter.

The other 3/4 may have more grandiose implications, but this 1/4 has more direct impact on the structures of galaxies and galaxy clusters, which is something that may directly impact humanity at some distant but still vaguely foreseeable future.
