I'm moving to Sweden!! Need input...

RE: I'm moving to Sweden!! Need input...
Quote:Again, you have no clue about sweden and its selfconsciousness. Sweden and swedes in general are confident enough in itself to allow anyone to write and say anything they want. You will get debated but you wont get thrown in jail. We dont suffer from inferiority.
I'm not talking about the national consciousness of the Swedes.
Certainly, I'm sure that you have quite a number of people who are nationalists, and oppose any upstart writers(or someone that speaks to the general public..) trying to soil their nation with untrue and unjust words.
I'm talking about you.
Besides, it's not as to "suffer" from inferiority. We too are quite confident. However, such writers generally boost the confidence of our enemies, mostly.
They woo them, they support them. Just like Orhan Pamuk, which has something good to say about anybody but Turks. But he is also a coward. He has fled the country, unlike some communist and nationalist writers that have faced the challenges of prison to go out clean. It's true, an idol of my ideology, a prominent nationalist and pan-turkist writer and his friends had been imprisoned in the past by the İnönü regime in Turkey.
Yet he did never even think of fleeing the country at the first sight of prison walls.
Orhan Pamuk however, now lives in his apartment in New York, and enjoys the money from his book sales and the money he got from the Nobel committee.
Quote:Like myself? Im i not at this very moment spending time arguing against a Turk with no knowledge about my country what so ever?
No knowledge? Well, what exactly do I need to know about your country to argue about it with you?
And certainly, I'm not even arguing about *your* country.
I'm just stating that the comparison between these two countries probably won't bring up anything else than ethnolinguistical differences between the two countries, for I think that America provides far more opportunities for those who seek work(and are qualified to do so).
Quote:They scared him to silence. Its a shame. And this has what to do with Sweden?
Nothing. But it shows that the great Hungarian nation won't stand for a man who has chosen to openly insult the Hungarian people.
Neither will we.
Quote:There is no law in sweden about holocaust denial. We have freedom of speech in Sweden. As i just pointed out.
How about Germany and France? They're in the EU, and they have far more weight in the EU than your country could ever have.
Quote:Then you are dead wrong, which was made quite clear. You have no clue about swedish culture and its way of life. Which was quite obvious when you tried to get cheap credits by posting a swedish wanna-be-monty-python movie from youtube and referring to the comments(!).
It's not a matter of your culture and your way of life. Again, the guy who opened this thread is not interested in your culture nor your way of life.
He just wants to migrate to Sweden because he thinks that he can live a better life in Sweden than in his home country.
Besides, I already said that I found the video funny more than anything.
But a few Swedes which I've talked with over the internet, obviously do not stand for it, and just do a quick youtube search, to find that some Swedes obviously don't like the whole blanda-upp business either.

Quote:Have i ever stated that Sweden offers better life standards compared to America? No, not once. Again, you are full of shit
And have I stated that you stated as such?
No. But obviously you're pretty much the only person to actually give a proper insight to the OP.

For your information, I am VERY if not EXTREMELY interested in BOTH the "culture of Sweden" and the "Swedish way of life". So either you need to calm down your nationalistic rhetoric or you just need to leave this conversation entirely. Because you obviously know nothing about anything that is relevant here and therefore have nothing - no advice to offer me.

I would study every aspect of Sweden and her surrounding countries I could, plus learn the languages. I have some headway into the cultural history but would also look that up if I was planning on packing my bags and 'doing a geographical'. One more point, I would give myself eight years to "settle" in this new environment, with regular trips 'home' to remind me why I left.

Quote:Sounds like sour grapes to me. Has it to do with the fact that the European Union wont let Turkey in?

My nationalistic rhetoric can be found elsewhere.
Not here, though. However you're right. If I were to live somewhere else that supposedly offered me better lifestandards, I surely would be interested in it's culture and lifestyle either.
But on the other hand, there are certain countries whose culture and lifestyle fascinate me to the brink of fanboyism, but I certainly have no intent of moving there without actually having the means to support myself, as the government there cannot support me, a non-national.
And is it the case that you're interested in the Swedish culture because you want to move and live there, or do you want to move and live there because you're interested in Swedish culture?

It's not the EU thing. I'm a Turanist, I oppose Turkey's admission to the EU by default.

Well, I'll experience Sweden first hand in a few months. I have been invited to come to the Dreamhack computer festival in Jönköping.
Best regards,
