Angels & Demons Controversy.

I'm all for "cleansing" people who put forth radical ideas about exterminating others. That would solve more of the world's problems than killing off the Christians or Muslims.

Has this thread inched from a seemingly harmless film, to a topic more-than-vaguely related to the Holocaust! I fervently refuse to take either stand! D:

But anyway, the trailer for Angels & Demons is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KybMg1LaRPQ

You can hear the gist of the plot in the trailer. But one of the main themes (as I think I may have mentioned before) is the idea of Science versus Religion, and how the Roman Church has relentlessly tried to slow the progress of Science, one famous example being Galileo, who, if I am not mistaken, the Church prosecuted for his theory about the Earth orbiting around the Sun.

I think its an awesome show, really captivated by the twists and turns as well as the magnificent (digitally edited) scenes of the Vatican and various churches. Action-packed and thought-provoking too. Amazing!

Stellan Skarsgård thought that Brown wasn't a good author. But he enjoyed making the movie. Peronally haven't read any of his book, but apperently are they not as good as it is often protaied to be.

Have anyone read his books?

My bro has read both. He said Angels and Demons was actually better than the Da Vinci Code..I'm not that sure how high he really rates either of them tho..

I found Da Vinci fantastical and mildly interesting. Insulting is laughable. Hopefully the new film is a little more interesting.

Recently watched the Da Vinci Code movie, and I must say it does shake the very foundation of Christianity. Totally questions the divinity of Jesus Christ, no wonder the Christians were far-from-enthusiastic regarding its screening.

But essentially I think the Da Vinci Code is more focused on a single theory, that Mary Magdelene was Jesus' wife, and then they basically revolve around that theme throughout the entire movie. As for the new movie, first of all its a lot more action-packed (with the time-limit and all), its much grander, and more importantly, its doesn't focus on giving the viewer that nice feeling of revelation and discovery like in the Da Vinci Code, but rather a race, what's more a race involving the most popular religion in the world, and a terrible vengeance.

If you had a button, and pressing that button would instantly kill every single theist on the face of the planet would you press it?

Haven't watched either and don't plan too. But you never know...

All aboard. Yes. As long as all the other animals survived.
