Well he stuck his foot in his mouth recently when he said that he doesn't care about the jobless rate. Of course he doesn't. He's too busy worrying about contraception, abortion, porn, gay marriage, and all those other incredibly important issues we face today.

This guy has enough craziness to be a bonafide fringe candidate (he is not quite at Ross Perot's level but hey Ross was a special guy), yet here is winning states in the Primary. I don't know what the appeal is. Has he NOT alienated any groups of people? I can't think of one except the fundamentalists?

I would really, really, love to see Santorum break away from the Republican party and run as a third-party candidate. Since the Tea Party loves him so much, they could organize and he could be the Tea Party candidate.

Oh and I think a lot of Santorum's support is from people who want a Christian theocracy, or want to throw Obama out, but don't want to vote for a Mormon. So therefore he gets most of the batshit insane Christian fundie vote.

In the branding and advertising business it's important to come up with slogans that describe what your product is about. The unofficial slogan for the Republican party is "Anyone but Obama". I think that describes quite accurately what the product is about.
