Does this mean the only answer you will accept is the answer you have determined to be correct?

No, there is not just one acceptable answer for me. You can say you're a Hindu or a Muslim or a believer in Aztec human sacrifice and I'm not going to say you can't say that. You said if I asked you, you would reply. Now, instead of answering, you come back with more questions.

Yes, I would like you to state your religion / religious affiliation and there are no limits provided you answer openly and without evading. I would be grateful if your next post is a straightforward, open, honest answer and not more questions.

Yes, I do want to know the truth. I can understand what you are saying about refusing to blaspheme not because you're a secret Christian but because you didn't want to be coerced into something. Your signature at the bottom says "Honour the truth". Yes, I do want to know the truth.

I'm not saying now that you told a lie when you represented yourself as an atheist. But honestly, that is the impression I got but if you will be open about your beliefs, I will accept what you say openly without being evasive. People have said I'm an atheist but I have NEVER lied about my beliefs or lack of belief. I maintain I'm a Christian because I'm a member of God's Holy Church and my church and prelates accept me as a Christian. But I'm open about the fact that my definition of God is a mere metaphor for goodness and not a supernatural being. I have not concealed the fact that I don't accept anything supernatural or superstitious (the two words being perfectly synonymous in my view). If my beliefs fall under the category of "atheist", that's fine. I always have the highest regard for atheists anyway and I find the title an honour in itself. But I have to be honest in declaring myself a Christian because I am one and the Church accepts me as one and I'll be confirmed later this year when I return to England, possibly by the Archbishop of Canterbury himself (or so my friends are trying to arrange!!!).

I believe in being open about things. There was a time when I would lie on forums and pretend to be older than my real age. But that's because some forums have age limits or people think ill of you if you're on the young side so I used to pretend to be anything from 25 to 40. It was when I pretended to be a 40 year old professor in English in Jesus' College, Oxford that an old woman fell for me and insisted on meeting me. She said she would wait for me at "my" College just to have lunch with me! After that experience, I decided to be truthful. It's very hard to maintain a lie - that's my experience.

Yes, I would be delighted if you could openly state your religious position and affiliation. But if you want to keep it a secret, that's fine too but just let me know you want to keep it a secret and not tell me a long story, at the end of which I'm left wondering what it is you really are up to.

Have a pleasant day!

Actually I think what he was getting at is more that a answer is an acceptable response to a question regardless of whether it confirmed his hypothesis or not as opposed to the endless stream of evasive bullshit you flooded two pages of this thread with.
Just sayin'.

Possible answers;
"Ah but do I not believe in a God?"

"Well that depends entirely on what your definition of God is."

"Bwahahahaha. Foolish mortal. My views are far too beyond your scope to even comprehend!"

"Do I subscribe to any current religion? No. Was that the question you asked? ...maybe?"

"Oh don't be silly. I don't believe in anything as primitive as "God".... I just think that all things that are living share an unspoken connection of consciousnous and energy that when combined form a being of such consciousnous and energy it is entirely outside of our understanding. In that sense the universe is abit like the mighty morphing power rangers."

"... Where am I, how did I get on this site and why am I naked? Some questions don't have simple answers."

"All I know is what metaphysics has taught me and I have to take that on board before applying anything else. On a side note I've been a good boy this Christmas and I think Santa is going to get me a jar jar binks action figure."

Choose any of the above or anything else you can think of that doesn't qualify as a clear answer. Chances are you'll get anything you come up with long before you ever get anything remotely resembling a "yes" or a "no".

Who is that in Vinny's avatar? I think he's a neo-nazi.

I don't want to evade the question. But I also don't want to be compelled. It should be my free choice to do so when and how I want to, and I presume you agree with me. So you won't badger me to answer your question. I presume you're interested in having a conversation rather than just finding out what religion or irreligion I claim to be a part of.

But the one thing I am curious about, is why you feel I am obligated to do what you want- after all, I'm struggling to find any reason to do so. You tried to harass me (without knowing my real religion, you tried to guess in order to do so). You tried to compel me to answer your question, disrupting conversations all over the forum and harassing other members of this forum to further your accusations against me. You insulted me.

And all of a sudden, I should just answer your question? I don't understand. How do I know you will not just continue to harass me?

Hi Raphiel. Aren't you a science-denier? Aren't you one of those kooks who thinks you can use science to prove mathematical proofs?

I'm sorry, but you don't have any credibility in this, or any other discussion as far as I am concerned. You are the Alex Jones of journalism.

It's obvious to me he's a troll and I have placed him in my IGNORE list. I encourage everyone to do the same. Don't feed the troll. I wanted to post a reply to his message but all I got is this message:

"The contents of this message are hidden because Vincenzo "Vinny" G. is on your ignore list."

Wonderful, I do assure you!!!

Disappointed.

But I hope the harassment stops.

Yeah, obvious troll mate. You weren't very convincing to begin with and now you just sacrificed what little credibility you got so... time to fuck off?
I mean I hate to break your flow its just trolls are supposed to be funny and you're abit shit to be honest. Someone has to tell you, its for your own good.
Oh and if that was a real picture you put on to begin with then I'd consider getting some kind of help. You're receding and you look like the guy with special needs who never made the final cut of Jersey Shore.
