No DNA On Assange's Alleged Torn Condom

And as I have shown above the permission of the UK would be required as well. So why have to go through both the UK and the Swedish procedure when they could just have gone through the UK alone.

I'm still waiting for this evidence of Swedish judicial malfeasance.

They don't need to request.
Everyone knows what they want and what they'd give to get it.
Its the entire reason this farce was set up, to drive him out of the wood works.

Sweden might decide to withhold him from the US but I think thats unlikely, don't you?

It is contained in article 17 of the Framework of the European arrest warrant

A state wishing to prosecute a surrendered person for offences committed before his or her surrender, or extradite a surrendered person to a third state, must, subject to certain exception, obtain the permission of the executing judicial authority. Such a request is made in the same form as a European Arrest Warrant, and granted or refused using the same rules which determine whether surrender would be granted or refused

You can read more in full Here
My mistake I have found your quote in your link. That quote is based on Article 27(4), 28(4) not Article 17. Your statement is not replicated in the Framework of the European arrest warrant.

They don't need to request.

yes they do. If they want assnage from the UK they need to request his extradition

Everyone knows what they want and what they'd give to get it.

"everyone" knows do they? How do they know? Th US has not expressed any interest so far. Obviously you know better

Sweden might decide to withhold him from the US but I think thats unlikely, don't you?

Since they would need UK's permission as well UNDER SWEDISH LAW its very unlikley.

Prove what case? That Sweden has to ask the UKs permission to send Assange to a third country?

Actually I am so utterly bored with Assange I wish he would just stay in the embassy forever.

No, they do not need to request. It goes without saying.
Everyone knows the US government wants wikileaks destroyed because of how bad they've made them look. Wikileaks have also made the UK and various other governments look rather bad too.
Thats a fuck-ton of pressure on whatever governments giving him asylum that Sweden will be unlikely to stand against.
Do you even understand how much dirt this guy has dished out? They want this guy gone.

I don't think they will do anything unless he is stupid enough to go to the US.

What you think is irrelevant.

You haven't demonstrated that Assange should think he is NOT like Agiza. So far, you've posted bullshit.

Take this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Arrest_Warrant for example.

Quote:The European Arrest Warrant (EAW) is an arrest warrant valid throughout all member states of the European Union (EU). Once issued, it requires another member state to arrest and transfer a criminal suspect or sentenced person to the issuing state so that the person can be put on trial or complete a detention period.

An EAW can only be issued for the purposes of conducting a criminal prosecution (not merely an investigation), or enforcing a custodial sentence.[1]

You've held strong to the "He's only wanted for questioning" charade.

Let's see how well that applies now.

That is up to the military to decide under the UCMJ, not some little shitstain like you bitching from Thailand.

His court martial is set for Sept 21st. The charges include "Aiding the Enemy", which carries life imprisonment as a potential sentence.

"Aiding the Enemy" can also be punishable by summary execution, if they deem that his actions were somehow undertaken during or in support of a war or direct action...btw. Apparently they've said they won't be pursuing that......., just throwing it out there. Unfortunately, due to the public release nature of Wikileaks and the fact that we've been at war or in direct action for a decade the "Aiding the Enemy" case against him is airtight under UCMJ, so it is, definitively, an option for the DOD to have him executed (I mention this because I find it hard to believe that they wont in the press release announcing his life imprisonment as some sort of mercy...lol). One way or another this soldier is going to lose his life for being the military equivalent of a whistle-blower. Unfortunately soldiers are not granted the same sorts of protection that civilians are.

Always remember that the perpetrators of the My Lai massacre got off nearly scot-free and the man who stopped it was nearly brought up on charges.

I respect the military, but I recognize they can be utterly inhuman, political shits too.

Does that mean the military is all bad? No. But it does mean that it chooses it's justice when it wants.

Well, the military's definition of "justice" is of an entirely different sort than the civilian definition. It is very much utilitarian and very much about succeeding in conflict. I'm personally on the fence with regards to MJ. In some cases I can see why it is more prudent to have it set up the way it is, but in principle I find it hard to swallow that the defenders of said "justice" are not, themselves, privy to protection under what they have agreed to forfeit their lives to defend.

What law did Julian Assange break in the US? What would they do if he went to the US?
