Women can't be friends with women.
Therefore women can't have friends.

Oh I wouldn't adhere to stereotypes...some men can have female friends just as some women can have male friends. And then there is the whole homosexual friends issue...which is easily done.

Nah people can be friends with their opposite gender and sexual orientation.

YES!! It is usually the women attached to the vagina your penis is currently entering.

Seriously though, most of the time men can't be friends with women; the sex thing usually ruins it. That being said, I do have several female friends from the swing dance community. The nature of our friendship is to dance with each other when we see each other out in public so it is very non-threatening to my wife. Many of these dancers are friends of mine on Facebook too, so they ooo and ahh over my wedding and my child's birth. There is a certain ex of mine that drives my wife insane! Her, I can't be friends with. Smile

I'm not denying that it fucks some things up, but that's generally because of the people involved, not because it truly isn't possible. Some people can't get over it, in whatever way that manifests.

That's all I'm saying, that it usually fucks things up. Yep, totally depends on the people involved. I used to be the kind of guy to view girls as sex pinatas that would break open given enough whacks with the nice stick, but now I can be friends with women without worrying about when we are going to sleep together. I think it is because I'm older and just don't have as many raging hormones nor am I subject to them like I used to be.

To me, friends are the ones you forgive/forgive you, for throwing up on the new carpet, burning the house down, accidentally sleeping with mother. I tend to piss people off without even having to sleep with them. Sex has little bearing on my friendships

"The results suggest large gender differences in how men and women experience opposite-sex friendships. Men were much more attracted to their female friends than vice versa. Men were also more likely than women to think that their opposite-sex friends were attracted to them—a clearly misguided belief. In fact, men’s estimates of how attractive they were to their female friends had virtually nothing to do with how these women actually felt, and almost everything to do with how the men themselves felt—basically, males assumed that any romantic attraction they experienced was mutual, and were blind to the actual level of romantic interest felt by their female friends. Women, too, were blind to the mindset of their opposite-sex friends; because females generally were not attracted to their male friends, they assumed that this lack of attraction was mutual. As a result, men consistently overestimated the level of attraction felt by their female friends and women consistently underestimated the level of attraction felt by their male friends."

A rather NSS finding. I could've told them that for free.

I wish I had some experience of this sort of thing.

I've never had issues being friends with men, but I'm not exactly attractive to all men, I think.
