They're running their bodies like finely tuned race cars. You're filling your '70's Buick with the same fuel, it won't mean you get the same results or performance.

So you shouldn't eat what professional athletes/people at the prime of health eat?

Yes, he is very strong guy, he is almost 60 and can do a 'muscle up' (youtube it if you don't know what it is). I enjoy cardio mostly.

Athletes are not super human and can and do have problems with body dissmorphea that can cause them to take on very unhealthy diets and to take drugs that ultimately might short term give them that burst in competition but destroy their bodies long term.

If you lost weight because you needed to, then good for you. If you lose weight simply because you want a better looking body, that is fine too. But people in doing both can take it to extremes as well, including athletes.

Listen to a doctor, that is the only rational and reasonable thing to do. Don't chase after what others want or think you should be.

You have to be extreme if you want to win.

That is a good attitude if you want to cripple yourself or die. Now, once again. No one here is suggesting you get fat again. And no one here is judging you for wanting to have a nicer looking body. But pushing yourself to any extreme is a good way to hurt yourself.

The best thing for you OR ANYONE to do is to follow a reasonable exercise and diet program BASED on what a doctor says.

I am quite sure that pro wrestler who killed his family thought his "extreme" of steroid use was ok.

And I am quite sure even Mohammed Ali is enjoying now all those head blows he suffered in boxing.

No one is suggesting you not be happy with yourself. But you are in a world of future pain if you don't loose your ego and deal with reality the way it is.

Being fit is one thing, being an idiot is another.

Well, I am curious about getting a pro contract in athletics- it seems like a lot of fun. Whether I will take steroids or not is for me to decide when it comes to that time. I'd rather not of course for health reasons. Still undecided...

Just out of curiosity what professional sport is it you envision joining?

You might want to start eating some more proteins. There are ways to get proteins from veggies and such, but it's a lot harder for your body to break down a process, so much of it was wasted. I know you're vegan, but you may want to think about adding some fish into your diet and cutting back on the carbs and fruits a little.

I would like to do marathon running/ultramarathon running or something for tall people haha.

I have a history of mental sports, like chess and gaming which I had a short professional career.

Wait... So you want to be a marathon runner, but you don't run?

If I wanted to get bigger I would, as in more strength involved sports, I definitely would (not from fish though). There are many big and strong athletes that are vegan. I believe the World's strongest man of a year was vegan & german.

I do run? & I am considering it.

Undecided about blood doping and steroids? Ok, "I am undecided about heroine and cocaine".

I see so much of myself in you. So much stupid shit I did just because others were doing it too.

Started smoking to get even with my dad, plus it looked glammorous in the adds and in movies. Ended up having wild parties that could have gotten me and my mother arrested, just because I wanted to fit in.

You should give a shit about yourself, not what other athletes do or don't do. They are not super human anymore than you or I. They can do stupid shit too.

AGAIN, you want to play a certain sport, go for it. You want to mountain climb, go for it. You want to parachute out of a plane, go for it. But do those things for YOU, otherwise you are nothing but a different lemming just like I was.

I hate the concept of "role models" because they are merely human like you and when you follow someone like a lemming, they can lead you down roads you don't want to go. And then after it is too late there is nothing you can do.

Now your diet and exercise program should be base on one thing, what a doctor advises you to do, nothing more.

Let's not put value judgements on addicts, abusers and users. :3

I don't smoke, do drugs, drink or w/e. So, leave me alone with the don't do drugs speech!

Steroids is different, since it has financial purpose and will get you more good stuff, at the price of health, same with working hard- like you can work 12 hours a day, and you will get something in return from that. For me, I am a very competitive person, I'm interested in winning, I really enjoy myself, practising, making things better- being productive. That's just how I am.

I respect results that person has, not pieces of paper in frames.
