Men especially have a problem because we weren't made for this talking shit.

We're expected to be strong, confident in decisions. And we expect that of ourselves.

It's hard to do in a society that suppresses and restricts your natural urges. Punishes you for not taking shit.

The answers are always inside of you. If no one shows you that then you can't understand it.

It's why the suicide rates for men are a lot higher.

You can't be a man and stay true to yourself and escape this world without pissing someone off or getting arrested or dying.

The universe is inside you and the universe is anarchic.

We're full of so much critical thinking but rarely use it to our benefit.

I remember once I got a D in a history paper. I didn't care much for grades but always made sure it was a B or C to half-appease my parents.

Anyway, this teacher pissed me off because I knew I was smarter than that and she fucked up my system. So I decided to do the exact opposite of how I thought I should write the paper, just as an experiment, and it got me an A*, top of the class and photocopied as an example to show everyone.

It was just because I was angry and I channelled it.

The problem at uni is I know when lecturers are doing that to me now and I just lose respect for them trying to provoke me that way. Stressing someone out can be good in the short term, but positive reinforcement is always a better long-term strategy when motivating people.

I can't stand people who don't realise the latter point or like to manipulate it for their amusement.

I agree my philosophy teacher tends to piss me off whenever she lectures close to religion or sience. She lets her biased opinion seep into the lecture which normally i wouldn`t care but when comes these thing i do. But yes sometimes i have to remind myself to listen to my own advice. It really does help. with this saituation i have ignored my gut instinct for WAY too long. I think the anger i have toward whats going on helps me remember not to beat myself up, distance myself and stay away for the better. I never thought anger or in this case hatred would actually give me a new perspective and open my eyes. I think i just fought it for so long that more i fought it the more it was what i needed. To just say fuck it and move on. It will go away with time but it has made reflect on alot and for that i am thankful. As socrates said "A unexamined life is not worth live".

Hopefully i will find serenity but that will take time. But i know i am better off and that gives me hope.

I don't think hatred is ever beneficial, in any circumstances. Someone mentioned that hatred might drive a person to be more productive in order to overcome obstacles, but I beg to differ. I don't think people realize how strong of a word "hate" is. These days, the word is tossed around and used casually all the time, but it really is a powerful word. Saying you hate someone in my opinion is like saying you would be perfectly happy if that person were to die. Not a great example, but my point is that it's a strong word used loosely too often.

Hatred just leads people to bottle up anger inside, and that's never a good thing. It's better to release things and forgive instead of keeping it all in and going on hating someone (or something for that matter).
