One question for Christians
RE: One question for Christians

Nope.

Quote: Did it ever occur to you that perhaps some of these folks simply want to drop their two cents and see what you think?

Yes.

Quote: It's not about winning, but about sharing ideas.

No, we have a moral obligation to believe what is true and to correct those who are in error.

Quote: There is a debate forum here if that's what you'd like, but last I checked this thread is meant for simple discussion.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if you had fared better in defending your beliefs you’d be calling this a debate. It’s conveniently now just a discussion. Tongue I am more than happy to discuss ideas with people, but only with people who I know can conduct themselves like adults. Until then, I operate in a debate-like fashion.

Then you lose every time because there was never anything for you to win. At least you admit that you are purposefully conducting yourself like a pompous ass. That's one of the most honest things I've heard you say thus far.

It’s hard to take you seriously when you cannot even get the Biblical story that you’re attempting to ridicule correct.

Ha Ha Ha, thats a good one! Yes you are right we should get our ridicule aligned with the right ridiculous verse!

Gen 30: 37-43
(v. 37) Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches.

(v. 38) Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink,

(v. 39) they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

(v. 40) Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban's animals.

(v. 41) Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches,

(v. 42) but if the animals were weak, he would not place them there. So the weak animals went to Laban and the strong ones to Jacob.

(v. 43) In this way the man grew exceedingly prosperous and came to own large flocks, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys."

Let stupid bible verses speak for themselves..

Proof of claim?

Some claims require more proof than others. I'm not going to waste time explaining this to you, bottom feeder.

The following video accurately depicts what should be a consideration for claims that need proof. I suggest you watch it and think about what you're doing when you ask people to uphold every statement that's put forth, not just on this site, but anywhere in life. If you don't like it, then it seems you will never have anything to discuss with anyone.

Forum User: I'm a 35 year-old male that lives in Gainesville, FL, and I'm an ex-theist-turned-atheist.
Catfish: Evidence to your claim, please.
Forum User: ...You're joking, right?
Catfish: You've made an assertion, and now the burden of proof lies with you to prove to us that you are indeed a 35-year-old male that lives in Gainesville, FL and that you were once a theist but are now an atheist.

...

Need I go on?
