Why atheism always has a burden of proof

Why do you insist on persisting in the lie that there are no other options? Hmmm?

Stop. Doing. This.

Stop telling people what they believe.

Stop. Just. Stop.

No, it does not. Nor does it make it true or credible.

What it does make it is irrational.

Doesn't that describe pretty much every book ever written?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

(I've said all this before, but: ) or we're a reflection of a mirror universe and all the things within are just reactions opposite to the mirror, or we're a long chain of randomly generated multiverse variants based upon a "prime" universe that was created, or it's a higher power that you don't know anything about, or...

See, I found a paragraph full of alternatives just off the top of my head. Why can't you?

Why do you insist on this false dichotomy even after you've been corrected on it?

.... In that case, Esquilax, I'm glad I'm on the right side of the 'reason' mirror. Poor mirrored me must be such a sucker....

This is the guy who actually offered to explain to Esquilax what Esquilax believes. I don't think he CAN stop doing it.

Power combined with credulity. You can gain power thinking you are right and completely be wrong. For the same reason Muslims have power in the middle east.

"Why would they die for a lie"? Is the wrong question. For over 3,000 years the ancient Egyptians truly believed with all their heart that the sun was an actual god.

The better question would be, "Why do you feel the need to cling to such an old story?"

Imagine it, though: somewhere there would be a universe in which Sword of Christ is a competent debater who understands the boundaries of his own understanding. Tongue

I'm working under the theory that he believes he's some kind of belief-wizard, capable of incanting beliefs into someone's head just by repeating it often enough.

Also, in my theory he runs around in a special cape with a coiled up turd on it.

He is still stuck with "which god" and pretends no one else claims other gods, and still doesn't see all of them are stuck with the problem with infinite regress. Nor do they want to consider that gods are the product of human imagination.

The religious who push their faith and the atheists who push against faith (without actual provocation) will always need to provide the burden of proof.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

So it's wrong for the colleague of a math professor to push to correct his friend when he has demonstrable errors in his equations?
