Mt. Soledad cross ordered to be taken down

Can you give one example of a neutral public memorial on public land?  It seems that all of them are offensive to some segment of the population.

Offense isn't the measure, Constitutionality is. A monument could be extremely offensive to almost everyone and still be Constitutionally sound.

According to members here, atheists are just as moral, and charitable as christians, so what makes you think you should expect better behavior from a christian than atheist?

Um...we don't. Most of us expect worse behavior from christians, actually...because that's what we see...all the fucking time...

Also, as I've said before, christians are not moral, they're legalistic. There's a difference.

Moral people do good things and avoid doing bad things because they think that's the morally correct course. Legalists do things because the rules allow them to and/or because they fear punishment if they deviate from those rules. Which system sounds more like the one used by religion? Hmmm...
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

I don't expect it. I do expect the ones who can't have a decent conversation with strangers without assuming ill of them to be hypocritical about it. And I point out the hypocrisy.

If accepting Jesus into your heart doesn't help you behave any better than the average atheist, what's the point? You're supposed to go and sin no more, but most of you keep at the bad behavior like you haven't the slightest fear of hell or hope of heaven. You just graduate from regular fallibility to hypocritical fallibility.

I don't get it anyway. Seeing as you can just be forgiven all the time, what's the incentive not to sin? Just screw everyone over, and keep apologizing to Jesus. That still gets you into heaven, which is all that seems to matter.

Without that cop-out, you actually have to take responsibility for your actions and live with the consequences.

Well, if you don't at least feel bad about your sin and sort of try to stop (and preferably get shitty with people who do the sins you're really against) then you obviously aren't a true Christian and your salvation wasn't real and you'll TOTALLY BURN IN HELL! Demon

You can also become a Christian just before you die and still get in, right? Then you can apologise for your whole life in one go and avoid a lifetime of rituals and donating money to the church.

Was it not you that started the 'gaming' thread?

Seriously Huggy? You couldn't think of at least three reasons on your own? Part of a good debate is trusting your opponent is capable of parrying anticipated rebuttal, cuts down on the bullshit and allows participants to 'cut to the chase'. You seem to be playing chess with the rules of checkers because the board looks similar and ignoring that the pieces look different.
