Not strictly true in a state where one has state funded welfare, like the UK. The NHS is spending countless millions on treating complications as a result of obesity. The medical victim is the person making themselves obese. But financially we're all suffering as a result.

In the UK at least complications from obesity, as well as treatment of obesity, ranks in at number 1 in some people's estimation of what the NHS spends its considerable budget on.

Obesity bothers me because it's actually causing a lot of indirect victims. Money is being diverted to something that shouldn't be a problem if people exercised control. But the worst thing is parents not knowing that over feeding your child is actually abuse, and that they are causing long term issues for their children that they may never get over.

T2 diabetes in under 18 year olds has seen a rise year on year in England, which is disgusting as T2 diabetes [i]usually[/] only affects people in the 50's+, and is usually due to a sustained and prolonged affliction of unhealthy living (bad diet, no exercise).

You're misinterpreting my argument. I'm for letting people do what they want insofar as they don't violate other people in doing so.

And you dodged my point against you. Conceivably all our resources and time could be spent on helping others. Any time or money not spent in aid of others is "wasted". Do you agree or are there some instances where it's ok to spend time and money on yourself rather than others? When is it ok to spend time and money on yourself and when is it not? Or are you just a hypocrite?

I'm not against spending time and money on yourself. I'm against being wasteful while knowing that millions of people lack the basic necessities of life. That is why I find a woman who is so incredibly overweight that she can barely walk, repulsive. And the fact that she is doing it on purpose, consciously doing it, makes it all the worse.
But its not just wasting food that bothers me. The amount of water wasted by people also piss me off. Its not the fact that somehow the kids dying from lack of clean water in Africa, would somehow benefit from us not wasting water, because they wouldn't. But the idea that someone can waste water, knowing that millions of people are sick and dying from the lack of it.....
If you want to spend your time helping other people, good for you. But we also have a right to live our lives and i'm fine with that. The point I start caring is when someone wastes precious resources or actively makes the world worse for other people like this Sussanne Eman woman is doing.
