Second, Jesus not saying anything about homosexuality is not the point of my post. Christians picking out what to follow and what not to follow is my point.

And by the way, JESUS SAID NOTHING ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY.

Jesus had stated that He did not come to change the Law. Since homosexuality and many other issues not quoted in the NT are part of the Law, then they stayed. Other than food (that was Jesus), it was Paul who wanted to change the Law.

The fact many sections of the Law are no longer followed is directly related to the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. Many of the rituals require the physical Temple.

On homosexuality, it is the action that is forbidden in the Bible; homosexual thoughts are not addressed in Leviticus and I don't know my Greek well enough if the NT reference pointed to both the Greek active and passive verbs. Also, it's not to be condemned outside the Christian community since Christians in the present time are only allowed to judge within the Church.

Jesus made several contradicting statements to the law and Moses' teachings in the early OT. That's one reason why the pharisees were so pissed off. So he did come to change many things according to his own words.

It's a deconstruction of the idea that gay sex is unnatural. Obviously it isn't, unless Satan moved the prostate around and made it full of sensitive nerves that could only be stimulated by sexual activity or prostate exams.

It's not a defense of the gay community because the gay community owes no answers to people like you.

Jesus disobeyed the OT law by not stoning the adultress, as was required by the law.
Jesus responded to the "eye for an eye" philosophy of the law of Moses with his "turn the other cheek" statement.
