Weird stuff huh - that's about 700,000 years before Homo Sapiens yet they are not suggesting Erectus?

Yet another predecessor of Homo heidelbergensis apparently - one for whom we have no fossil evidence as yet.

Here's a scholarly article on it if anyone's interested. http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Ado...0088329#s5 It basically says that it's the oldest known hominin (not modern human) footprint find outside of Africa. It says that the footprint sizes allowed them to estimate body dimensions which were consistent with the hominin Homo antecessor.

I'm starting to get skeptical about all these so-called "species" of humans.
Homo Erectus was around for 2 million years and much of the evolution into what we now are seems to have taken place with them. Declaring a new "species" gives naming rights to the finders and human ego is always a constant.

It's perfectly explainable. You find a footprint in Britain and then lie about how old it is. Mystery explained. Praise Jesus. Amen!
