Christianity. 3 words came to mind immediately....

Manipulation - To control or play upon by artful, unfair, or insidious means especially to one's own advantage.

Intimidation - To make (someone) afraid

Brainwashing - Systematic effort to destroy an individual's former loyalties and beliefs and to substitute loyalty to a new ideology or power. It has been used by religious cults as well as by radical political groups. The techniques of brainwashing usually involve isolation from former associates and sources of information; an exacting regimen calling for absolute obedience and humility; strong social pressures and rewards for cooperation; physical and psychological punishments for noncooperation, including social ostracism and criticism, deprivation of food, sleep, and social contacts, bondage, and torture; and constant reinforcement.

All of those techniques are discussed in the New Testament with examples of each being used.

If a person believed in Christ why would he be dead in Christ? Shouldn't a believer be alive in Christ? Dead indicates a lack of activity. Do dead chickens walk?

Belief does not make anything real - unless it actually is.

So - when you pray for miracles from the christ - is there any ACTIVITY?

So called pious people have prayed for over 2000 years - for the end of war and disease. Has not happened yet - and I would not hold My breath waiting for it to happen.

But then - there were ministers who preyed on Altar boys!
