Individual humans, on the other hand, are reaping the results of someone else rebelling thousands of years ago... an action that the person in question already paid for.
Quote:- God warned that suffering is a result of sin, no surprises here.
Then god is the source of suffering. Either he inflicted all humans with sin due to the actions of only two of them, or he designed humans to inherit sin if only one or two of them rebelled.
Quote:- God has intervened, the bigger problem has been solved, the price of sin has been paid for in full!
Then why are people made to pay the price of sin, every day, all around the world, for centuries since then?
Quote:- God is coming back and will end sin once and for all
Tough to trust him, considering what you have just told us about him.
Quote:- Why the delay? To give sinful man a chance to repent, thus my urging for you to get in the ark
Uhhh... NO. Based on your explanation, the people responsible for our condition didn't get a chance to repent; they were sentenced on the spot. And in spite of this, their infection was allowed to spread to all of humanity. Why would anyone want to get into the ark, if it's being steered by the same god who pulled the rug out from under us?
Quote:- Why do kids suffer? God gave a grave warning to those who harm children, God instructed us to love our enemies, God told us to care for the poor - if we were obedient no kid would be harmed
Ah, I see. Kids suffer because god is a man of words, not action.
Quote:God became flesh and suffered like no man has ever so He understands suffering completely.
Uhhh... NO. I agree that he suffered like no man ever, in that he knew he could stop it at any time, and that he also knew that after three days of rest he would go right back to being GOD for all of eternity thereafter. He cannot understand suffering and still do what YOU purport he does to humanity.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Yeah. No.

Look up the Spanish inquisition. Never mind 3 hours on the cross, those guys could keep you alive for DAYS. And I don't mean with good diet, healthy exercise etc. The Romans were pro torturers for their day but rank amateurs compared to those who came after.

Theres probably people in hospitals today whom would gladly switch places with jebus if they were sure their suffering would stop after the the three days.

Truth.

Actually, they were pretty nice to him, ending it after a few hours. If the feet were nailed you could survive crucifixion for days!

3 year old girls are now bombing people? How? Riding in their Play-do planes?

Besides, a simple perusal of your god book will find god to be very sensitive to anyone who doesn't honor and fear him, and yet I can't provoke his imaginary wrath no matter what sick vile slur I can toss at his putridness. That's kind of funny isn't it?
Sure sounds like your god's wrath story is no more real than Spongebob's pineapple house.

If that doesn't make you feel better, than scream out some vulgarity. If that still doesn't make you feel better, then scream again - and again - and again - until you're hoarse.
If you feel the same way about Satan, then repeat the process - maybe the next day, when your throat heals.
However, you MIGHT want to do these things when no one else is around, or the people who see you might think that you are crazy.

OK, so it's NOT crazy to talk well about an imaginary god, but it IS crazy to slur an imaginary god???

Or are you admitting that god is imaginary and agree that it is silly to try and provoke an imaginary being?
You MIGHT want to learn how to read. I did NOT say that it was crazy to slur anyone. I SAID that people might think that you were crazy if you screamed in public.
If you want to scream vulgarities at a being that you consider to be nonexistent, then be my guest. Like I said. You MIGHT want to do that when no one is around or people will look at you funny.

What is the purpose of your comment? Has anyone been suggesting that we atheists go out side and yell at passerbys like an insane street preacher?

Christians have the market cornered on looking crazy in public.

That was the best episode of wife swap ever of all times. One of the greatest things ever aired on television. Ever.

Isn't it funny how that woman was probably angrier than all of the "dark-sided" folks she was ranting about? Tongue And I'd bet dollars to donuts those kids are all atheists now.

The final line was just a great capper, too. Of course she accepted the money, she's a fucking fundie. Rolleyes
