G/C just said what I've been saying, just in another way.

In Christianity we have proof of God through the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is where God/The Holy Spirit has direct contact with us giving us direction, assurances and support.

What better proof of God is there than God Himself?

So yeah, really!

That is only 'proof' to you. Your experience is not proof to anyone else.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

I thought you couldn't have obvious, undeniable, direct confirmation of God because that would violate free will? At least, that's what christians say when I ask them why God can't just show himself plainly to everyone. Have G/C and Drich's free will been violated because of the incontrovertible proof god has given them?

This would be a valid Arguement if said proof was not offered to anyone who didnot A/S/K for it. As it is you do not have proof because you have not followed the prescription to receive it.

So, what about those who feel the 'energy' or 'spirit' or 'force' of another deity?
That should be sufficient proof of the existence of that deity.

And if you go and say that they're either feeling the 'force' of Satan, or they are feeling "the" Holy Spirit and misinterpreting it as their god, remember they can say the same thing to you.
How do you know you're not feeling the 'spirit' of Odin and misinterpreting it as the 'spirit' of Jehovah?

This would be a valid rebuttal if the procedure to A/S/K wasn't an unfalsifiable labyrinth of ad hoc rationalizations, retrofitted handwaving and excuses, all built around a core of vague, unassailable illogic. As it is you don't have a prescription to receive evidence of god because you will never accept the possibility that it might fail.

God is not a 'feeling'. When I say direction I mean direction. http://atheistforums.org/thread-13378.html When I say protection I mean literal protection:http://atheistforums.org/thread-11671.html post 135 God/The Holy Spirit Is or can be an real time interactive part of your life. To the point there is not questions, or need or interpertation.

We have chosen to find God. The choices we have are to that end and that end alone. 'freewill' is a ancient greek construct and not of the bible.

Huh, interesting. So many Christians that I talk to use free will as something that God imbued humans with, and God refuses to compromise that free will by appearing directly and undeniably. What's your stance on humans having God-given free will?
