You concluded that we were ready to burn witches in your hypothetical scenario just because only one person said it might be ok among all the other comments? WoW!!
Anyway, burning demons in hell failed miserably as they seem to rise back up easily in your world, so I don't see how burning witches could go any better. Witches don't use black magic necessarily, there are supposedly white witches who use magic without the "demon summoning" part. At least stick to the actual witch lore while playing a witchy rpg.

Before answering I would like to know if witches are 1) a separate species OR 2)whether they are humans irreversibly transformed into witches OR 3) humans that practice witchcraft?

Drich, you said the witches kidnap children and eat them and no prison can hold them. Obviously we couldn't just keep allowing them to eat children and we can't put them in prison, so the only way to stop them doing what they're doing is to kill them.

Not to stray from the OP, but do you, Drich, believe witches were once or still are real? I feel like that's where this is going.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

ah, hate to break it to you... The demons were not banished to hell. According to the bible They were cast from Heaven to earth.(which could be another intresting 'what if..' thread) They are not slated to be cast into hell till after the second comming. This realm is the closest thing Satan gets to a kingdom. That is why satan's offer/temptation of Christ to give Him this world back if Christ bowed down to Him was even a temptation at all... In short Jesus would not have to die on the Cross as the Father wanted, He just need to bow to Satan.

I guess witches would technically start out as people starting witchcraft that would be consumed/possed by demons the more they got into it. So demon possed people that sought out said possession/no hope of extracting the demon.

and what if fire was the only way to get the demon that powered all of this? Sure we could shoot a witch and the person would be dead, which just frees the demon to move on to the next person.

I know demon possession was real, what subsequent generations have idenified this possession is really of little consenquence.

God flooded the world to kill corrupt man.. There is a day comming where God will use fire.

That's the thing... There is nothing magic about magic.. Magic is demon manipulation.. To weild magic is to be tied to a demon.. Watch stimbo's scarry movie 'lights out' and tell me you want to be tied to that.
