I've enjoyed the land of the sane for years now, as far my mother is concerned; I was able to reverse the damage she cause by forcing me to go church. It took a while though! But, as far other children in the same boat as I was. I hope that they see a way out as a lot of us did.

That's great, I'm glad you were able to. It must have taken some hard work.

It's time parents stop forcing their religious beliefs on their children. If they really think that their beliefs are true and just, then all it should take is for them to be explained. As a belief that is, not as fact. The child should then choose to believe them without coercion, if it really is true, or at least believable. If they believe because you won't let them believe otherwise, you have simply brainwashed them.

Truth does not require brainwashing. Let your kids truly decide for themselves without pressure. If I had kids, I would not tell them to be an atheist. I would teach them how to think, not what to think. Don't take advantage of their dependence on you to fill their head with things stated as fact that they can't possibly properly evaluate yet. That is child abuse.
