I think God was doing that already. I mean, why else would he have to impregnate Mary with 'the spirit.' It sounds like he found virgin women 'icky,' and didn't want to do the job himself.

Also, think of him taking a walk in the garden in Genesis. Why wasn't Adam with Eve at the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?

Maybe Eve wasn't the only one eating a fruit
