How can you have a debate with just assertions? You just end up swapping assertions like baseball cards.

Yep, religion is not set up to be objective, it is set up to protect the tribe and ego. To cling to old stories is closed minded.

Not that it should shock me, but just ran into another Hindu on Twitter that said "true Hinduism" would be the cure to humanity. NO YOU IDIOT, LABELS, do not automatically make anyone moral, not even "atheist" does that.

Our species ability to be cruel or compassionate is in our evolution, not the labels we assign ourselves or others.

Just had a guy claim Bramha created science.......He he......Yea, and conveniently the Vedas match science. We've never had Christians claim God made science or try to prop up the bible with it. We've never had Muslims claim Allah made science and use the Koran to prop up their god claim. Hindus are much older, so lets just ignore it is the same retrofitting after the fact because all of them don't want to give up on fairy tales.

The tried to argue "Please find me the scientific formula for happiness", as if we have never run into the abstraction argument.

Our emotions are evolutionary and are a result of biochemical reactions to stimuli. We give them different layperson descriptions, just like one would assign the number "1" to 1 apple, 1 car, 1 dog. "Love" is a word describing REAL chemical reactions in our brains when we react to something.

We can literally monitor brain activity in a lab and observe how the brain responds to stimuli. There is no magic or god or gods needed to explain anything. Our biology and evolution explain our emotions.

If you are god then just make a new commandment stating all religions are BS.

Now had a Hindu argue the wave particle behavior argument. Still another attempt to retrofit science after the fact.

Now I am running into an "atheist" from India who is saying he is an atheist, has no religion,,,,,,,,,,BUT is arguing that consciousness is independent of our physical body. Now trying to use si fi woo to merely mimic old myth to justify a new age version of an afterlife.

Our consciousness is like the speed of the car. No car, no motion. Blow up the car to tiny bits the broken parts will not function like the fully in tact car in motion. We are merely our brains in motion. Consciousness is an outcome of biological motion and external input to our senses.

Just like if you smashed a computer into unusable parts it would not function like an in tact computer.
