Calling it into question...

It is not a religion as you think. It is not divided, and works in all applications.

There is praise though. And admittance. And Faith. And selflessness. And with those things comes an undeniable feeling of right and connection. I am glad you brought it up. In a sense, it is simply your conscience. What people don't want to believe is that we are intricately connected to everything else, and that religion originally stemmed from the inner most knowing of enlightened individuals. It has sense been smeared and overrun traditionally. Once again all of which I know inside is not from any old religions. There books just happen to coincide with what I know. It is really a miraculous thing. I do not expect others to be overboard about it as I seam. I am only trying to broaden peoples perspective and in doing so, mine own. For we all are one, only divided.

You can have feelings of right and connection without praise and faith and religion. I'd like to see documented proof that we are intricately connected to everything else. Also, is there any proof that you can point to that shows that religion originally came from deep inside "enlightened" individuals?

What you believe is nice for you. However, you are on an atheist forum. If you want to broaden anyone's perspectives here, many of us here are going to need to see some sort of proof to all these claims being made.

My bad. Phone call messed me up. Praise and prayer simply keeps things in perspective as you may have noticed, I easily get twisted by the very evil in all hard to catch places inside. Rememberance of what the Lord has shown me keeps me on the path that I accept and that has been destined for me. Still I am partly evil and it still tries to put up a fight. Recollection of the splender that is all creation and Devine connection simply keeps wrong thoughts and acts at bay.

As far as an intricate connection simply look for all the signs left by ancient people. If that doesn't appease your question, perhaps research the Merkaba, and sacred geometry. Granted these things like all others are interpreted in ways that I personnaly may not completely align with. The enlightened are refered to as messengers, profits, and the chosen in ancient texts, probably more. Original Buddhism is a good example as well and very old in practice.

I understand and am actively working on ways to proove. It is only in spare time though, which is scarce.

Well, if you're working... there's always that. Employment tends to keep one preoccupied. I am a stay at home mom so I have time on my hands. However, the proof I seek is more scientific or actual tested methods which have been documented. Messengers, profits and "the chosen" are not proof of definitive evidence. But keep working on that proof! I wish you much success in that as you will be the first human ever to finally succeed where others have failed Big Grin

Based on the content and tone of what he's saying, I think he's talking at this point about prayer sessions of some kind that left him physically exhausted. When I was still religious, I fasted for 3 weeks one time in an effort to save my first marriage (it did not work...big surprise...and for some reason I still clung to my faith for another good 5 years or so). If he wants to talk about religious efforts that leave him physically and mentally exhausted (and still don't do shit), he should try that on for size and see where it takes him. The only miracle I experienced was that I didn't permanently damage my health somehow.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Prayer isn't in sessions. And the opposite of exhausting. Conversing with others on forums is exhausting. I don't need to know about your failed attempt at Faith. To be honest my religion and unwaivering Faith were proven to me first hand. Thank God. If it hadn't been I would most likely be in prison for a long time.

Curious, but if being on forums is exhausting, then what are you doing here? Aren't you getting sick of us yet?

Just remember that the god of Abraham is one of the most evil beings ever created in all works of human fiction.

I have noticed that many theists can be decent people DESPITE their "holy" books.

I can only assume they've read them and, like us, said "WTF? I'm not doing that!!"

Surly as I am normally quite anti-social. I feel I have been directed to do so. That it was and is the main purpose I was brought into this plain. It is good work, and literally exhausting, yet relieving.
