Enough computing power and input data to allow accurate prediction of ecological effects of human activity in a timely enough fashion to make rational decisions regarding that activity.
And the political will to listen to the answers.
And enough compassion to let some of the other inhabitants of the globe live.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

I know there are alot of planets out there that could be habitable, but aren't they super far away from Earth?

Also, the creation of Megaman X would surely bring about a peaceful era. Ignore what happens in the Zero series.

Yes. There is also the likely hood that they have their own biosphere's and that would make conservation and suitability an issue. No what I think we should do is colonize yes, but because plausible planets are so rare I think we should learn how to make earths. Mars will make a good place to start.

Since everyone took my original answer, I'll say near lightspeed to FTL travel. A way for us to leave our solar system and go to others in a relatively (see what I did there? Big Grin ) short amount of time.

EDIT: Next best idea - needleless immunizations.

We've had needleless immunizations for decades but they're usually only used in places where people are immunized in bulk. Military basic training centers have them. It's a gun-like device with a hose to a machine. It is placed against your shoulder and when the trigger is pulled, the liquid is forced in under pressure. It's a non-portable version of the hypos on Star Trek.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I don't know much about the subject yet ( no one really does I suspect) but yes while it would take a long time most of that time would simply be waiting. Once your done shaping the planetiod and inducing a magnetic field it would be akin to making wine. We would be using natural processes for our own ends. With a whole lot of simply waiting.
