As far as power goes, America is as great as they come. What is it right now? Five times the military strength of the next five nations combined?

But I tend to measure the greatness of a society on how it provides for it's citizens. Their access to clean water, medical care, health, overall wellbeing. That's where America isn't that great compared to other nations.

Trump won't change that. Hillary won't change that. Noone will change that, as long as breast pounding and taking money from donors (which Trump is doing too, if you hadn't noticed) is integral part of political campaigns.

What is greatness in a society anyway? My answer is always, how it treats it's weakest members.

He doesn't want America to be great; he wants it to be weak.  If he wants America to be great he would say so.  There's nothing wrong with either position.  America has never been great but it could be great if it changed some of its attitudes.  Right now it has a certain degree of power across several spheres but there's no guarantee that it will last even for a couple more decades.  We could be a has-been by the end of this century if not sooner.
