Hamza uses lots of big words in the hope of impressing his worshipers and confusing his opponents so that he can say: "gotcha!!!!" He also thinks quoting people's opinions from books and websites is good science.

It's called poisoning the well. If they can claim something is cliche or discredited, it gives the faithful a good excuse to ignore it. Just as William Lane Craig gave a talk on the ten worst objections to the cosmological argument that included legitimate objections, it's a pre-emptive strike on the legitimacy of the criticism. It's nothing but hot air.

My response to" consciousness, therefore god" would be "how do you know?"

When they ask about how we got from clumps of sub-atomic particles/atoms/cells to being conscious I'd respond, "I don't know but just because I don't have a good answer does that mean I should blindly accept a bad answer, how do you know it was god?"

I never make the assertion that a god doesn't exist because then the burden of proof is on you to demonstrate the claim and it also doesn't make sense to pretend to know the unknowable. It's much easier just saying that you don't believe in a god and asking questions then watching them trip up over themselves with endless logical fallacies.
A god that does not manifest in reality is indistinguishable from a god that does not exist. - Matt Dillahunty

I haven't heard anyone flat out say "consciousness, therefore God". That said, I see nothing wrong with pointing out that despite 100 years of speculation materialism has not yet fulfilled its promise to deliver a robust theory of consciousness. Nevertheless that hasn't stopped some from insisting that 19th century physics will supply one...someday, eventually. Since other routes to a solution are available, I can only guess as to why so many atheists feel challenged by non-reductive solutions that do not directly entail anything Divine.

Well, of course "consciousness, therefore God". You wouldn't expect unconscious entities to make up something like that, would you?

Actually it's really that simple and obvious. It's not an argument from ignorance, the nature of consciousness is closely tied with luminosity, spirit and light. The light is that of God and the spirit emanates from him, consciousness is manifestation of supernatural magic, but more then that, it testifies to an eternal source that it's linked to.

Why are you seeking excuses instead of accepting the obvious. That consciousness is spiritual and magical, not metaphorically, but really is.

You aren't just an experience generated by brain cells, there is a reality to who you are. It's so obvious, so manifest, so clear.
