Why would a transsexual be trying to get into a women's shelter if she isn't also a victim?

Apparently according to Mr. Wooters, trans-women can't be the victim of domestic abuse. I bet he's one of those fuckers who if he had the power would give someone who killed their trans-girlfriend probation instead of a jail time like they did in Texas.

You do realize that in the other 49 states, there are no bathroom laws, right?  That nothing is stopping predators from trying to abuse people in bathrooms?  Yet, it's statistically an extremely low crime.  Why?  Because the vast majority of abuse is caused by someone the victim knows and trusts, not strangers in public bathrooms.

Of course, there's also the flip side of the coin - trans people being abused by heterosexuals, which is more likely to happen if they can't go into the bathrooms they identify with.  But that doesn't matter to you, does it?

There's also the matter of you trying to make the public at large responsible for bad feelings victims may have, which is ridiculous.  If some trans person looks similar to an abuser, it's still not that trans person's fault that the abuse happened.  Seriously, if someone is going to be triggered by just going out into the public sphere, then they need counseling, not legislation.

But, ultimately, what you want to do is further ostracize and punish a minority group that already faces issues with discrimination and fairness due to the actions of a separate population, which is utterly ridiculous.  People who don disguises to perv and abuse others aren't actually transsexuals.

I think people with particular upbringings sometimes find things hard to understand, though no fault of their own ultimately. Hopefully one day those people will learn and understand that their beliefs are prejudiced.

Oh, the drama. So you ride with the primitive narrative of Huckabee admitting to have been a peeping toilet Tom, if given half a chance. Once again, these aren't men - or women for that matter - being out for a peek. These are people being born into the wrong body.

Apart from that I don't know if I should laugh or cry when watching this American bathroom legislation comedy unfold. It seems that some American politicians are more concerned over private parts than over real issues. The moment a European politician would come up with legislating bathroom use, they would be laughed out of office. But then again, we don't land people on sex offenders lists for taking a piss in the streets either.

Not sure if you mean the women who lose the shelter if it closes are the 'true victims'.  In my experience some Christians think transexuals themselves are victims of a permissive culture and their own suggestibility.  If that is what you have in mind, I have a bone to pick with you.
