I feel sorry for the children he claims to have raised. I feel sorry for him, too, in a way -- to be saddled with a reptilian outlook which views children as Pavlovian vessels to be brainwashed using violence and fear must be an empty existence as a parent.

But mostly I feel sorry for his kids, and am just glad he didn't kill one or two during his "training" of them.

Am I misremembering something, or did Drich once say that he is a foster parent?

I wonder what the Florida Department of Children and Families would think if they read posts like his coming from a foster parent?

Jesus fuck, I hope you're misremembering. I can't say I can recall that, although I've been ignoring him for a long time so who knows.

He used to physically abuse my oldest brother until my other brother was born.  He then turned to mental abuse, especially after I was born.

He was a military guy, but one of those guys who greatly exaggerated his own ability and importance.  Served in Vietnam for four months with the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic.  He was as far away from combat as one could get while remaining in theatre, working at an actual airport with real pavement and relatively modern (for the time) facilities.  So, he claimed PTSD and had "night terrors" where he'd smack my mom around in the middle of the night.  He was never apologetic, never sought help, so I'm thinking it was a BS excuse.

So, whenever we did something 'wrong', which was never a big deal (oh no, something was spilled!  Or not put away!  Or we looked at him or said something wrong!), he would berate us military style.  We were lined up side by side while he did his best Full Metal Jacket drill instructor impression, being sure to tell us what worthless pieces of shit we were, and how whatever whim he had was simply the way it was and not to be questioned, and that we likely wouldn't amount to anything, and so on.

It turned out he was a child molester, too.  He repeatedly sexually abused my cousin/godmother from the age of 8 until she was 16 during the late 70s/early 80s.  We didn't find out until 1999 because she knew we needed his income largely for my medical bills (and, trust me, nothing makes you feel like an utter stain like learning someone you love kept a terrible secret and withstood the worst kind of violation because you merely exist).  We barely made the statute of limitations, but he spent about 14 years in prison for it, and my brothers and I legally changed our last names to our mom's maiden name.

So, yeah, I understand might-makes-right fuckheads for the terrible cowards they are.  I am not impressed nor amused by them.

My cousin could have written this post almost word-for-word ... except that she was the molestation victim, too. Sad

Damn Sad

What's next on your list, ignoring 99% of climatologists on climate change?

Climate change is real, as it's obvious that we have been getting warmer since the last ice age. The cause is wrong.

On can not say carbon emissions have done done "x" if solar output is a non recorded variable. Solar output is not a constant, and it has the majority impact on our weather. Some years the sun burn hotter than others. The earth's orbit also effects climate. we do not orbit the sun like a wheel on an axle, it's like a very large very long protracted hula hoop. again no way to record that.

"Carbon emissions" was Al gore's version of the sky is falling and we can save ourselves if we all pay a carbon tax. It's all leftist crap. Even the scientists who pioneered the whole thing were caught falsifying data and cashing in. The business of 'global warming' is a 22 BILLION dollar per year industry. You can not tell me that with money like that at stake people are not lining up to sell their integrity to get a piece of the 22billion.

Ok moron, you do understand that scientific fields, all of them are based on the  same idea of observation, compare and contrast and control groups. But like all theists even when they accept SOME science, always run when that points away from their club's claims.

Law under government certainly entitles everyone to their own opinions, but in science, nobody is entitled to their own facts.

The experts on spanking say it only works SHORT TERM but not for good reasons, it is still rule out of fear, and negative reinforcement with physical pain does have long term affects. They can become bullies themselves, and become the verbally abusive boss, or they can go on to abuse their kids. And for those like me, it can cause trust issues and increase anxiety and depression.

Authoritarian rule is not love, it is dictation and "obey me or else" which has nothing to do with setting a child up to be well adjusted with good conflict resolution skills.

You do NOT need to cause physical pain to get a child to do what you want. If you cant do that, then the problem is you, not the kid.

Hope for America? I hope so.

Hope for Drich? Not so sure.

My stepmother used an authoritarian approach in raising me.... As a result, I grew depressed and suicidal in my adolescence, and once I turned 18, I moved in with other family members and rarely speak to her.

A child ought not be taught through fear. It only strains relationships and hurts the kid in the long run.

Evidently he doesn't understand the concept of empathy ...

Of course he doesn't, he's a christard who thinks listening to the paranoid delusions caused by the schizophrenic voices in his head make him the perfect person.

Ninteen Eighty-Four is what Brave New World would have been if Huxley knew how to write. Big recommendation is for Zemyatin's We, pretty much the main influence for Orwell.
