Not everywhere, there are certain states that allow prayer instead of seeing a doctor. At least they don't prosecute for neglect if parents fail to see a doctor because of religious believes.

That's really, really fucked up.

Call 911.

They'll do basic cardiac tests in the ER if your chief complaint is chest pain. If something turns up, they'll contact a specialist.
Your parents won't be able to ignore that.

Don't wait a few days.

Get to an ER asap.

Hate to be a pessimist but, if what you described was accurate, you may not have a few days.

Well, don't. Believe a former medic. While it may be something as trivial as a fart, it can also be life threatening. If it gives you concern over some pain or a condition you never experienced before, it's off to the doctor for you. Not in a few days, but fucking right now. Also observe your breathing. If it's harder to draw breath when lying down, it's an additional alarm going off.

I dont think 911 will be necessary. Its not extreme heart pain, its bearable, but its still worrying. If something happens before then that is severe, I will call 911 asap.

It's still potentially life threatening. 911 might be nessecary if your mother is still insisting on waiting a few days.

Or nothing as drastic. Just going to an ER. Rule of thumb, as I said, something you never experienced before or gives you some kind of dread, off to the doctors.

Not knowing how old general is, I can't say what's normal or what isn't. But growing up I had extreme pains in my leg joints. It was just business as usual while my bones kept growing, I was already 17 at the time. But if it had been in my chest, I wouldn't know if I had taken it as normal.

You seem young, don't you have any medical staff in your school?

If your family has bad or no health insurance I'd understand why they're hesitant. Do you have any medical conditions already? Are you very overweight? If you said no to both those things, your chance of having heart damage is very small. But some cardiovascular conditions wait a long time to present themselves and you may not even realize it.

I had extreme (like 10 on the pain scale) chest pain right where my heart was last month. But I'm stage 3 CKD which causes high blood pressure and high cholesterol, so it was code red in my eyes. My heart suffered no damage so I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't hurt to take the ambulance ride and get the blood tests because thankfully my insurance covered it.
