I lie all the time, especially in order to protect my privacy, such as when I'm asked to provide my date of birth to a company that does not need that information. If companies ask for my age, sometimes I give a slightly different age as well. I have two standard alternate DOB's that I use in order to prevent people who don't need a full set of information about me getting their hands on enough information (easily) in order to steal my identity. Whenever I make an online purchase, for example from humblebundle and it asks for my postcode I will lie and put in 2601 or 0200 or choose some random postcode in ACT or Australia as they do not need to know my real postcode, and Australian banks can't confirm or deny any customer information either. I do however put in my phone number.

If you take out lying to protect my privacy, then I hardly ever lie at all. For example, I wouldn't tell a friend or family member I have other plans to avoid stuff I don't like, etc.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

That's why luckily for my O.C.D. lies from omission don't count as lies to me Big Grin

That's just you justifying a lie in your mind. It's still a lie.
