The catholic church gives more to tje.poor than any other organizarion.

In this article note where 2/3 of the money comes from.

Also, take a look at this and the percents and federal dollars.

. . . and the Apostle Paul, and of course the Old Testament writers too, aren't thrilled to have yet another uppity woman out fronting for The Jesus.

Some one needs to point out to the sister that not following Scripture won't endear her to God, and she also won't be saving any souls for Him either, in fact, quite the opposite.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

No argument, but the sister was pointing out that being pro-birth and objecting to helping the poor (the lovely 'work or starve' argument) are inconsistent. If the State is going to insist that all conceptions lead to viable births, then the State should have an obligation to care for those people born as a result. As should individuals.

Oh i agree. I wasn't arguing that. I just don't think it's fair to say the church is hypocritical when it comes to serving people in need. That's what my comment was directed towards.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

A) Most of the money "given" to charity by the church is donations from ordinary people funnelled through catholic organisations (which have some very uncharitable purposes like spreading lying propoganda about condoms, abortions and LGBT people). It's not the church being charitable but ordinary Joe and Jane Soaps.
B) You call yourself pro life and in favour of providing kids with the proper resources, yet all your words here say that you are a strong supporter if the party that wants to get rid of any support which helps kids get what they need for to have a fair shot, all because they're willing to force women to carry foetuses to term no matter the consequenses. Seems to me a person who votes to turn women into milch cows over a proper social security net for all loses the right to call herself pro-life.

He means....they don't give THEIR money.  They give YOUR money and then the sanctimonious bastards take credit for it.

I was referring to the bolded.

Though what you're saying also doesn't make any sense.

You're basically saying "Oh it isn't 'The Church' doing anything to help, it's the people of  the Church, through the Church. But not The Church!" Lol. You talk about The Church as if it's some sort of separate entity in and of itself. "The Church" is all of us. If myself along with a group of my fellow parishioners raised money at one of our Church events and then used it to go to Guatemala to build homes for the poor people there, it would be considered "Catholic Charity" and "help from the Catholic Church." We literally are the Church.

Let me give you a less personal example since you can't seem to see anything which is critical of your church.

I recently heard an ad for a car dealership out here in which they invited customers to bring in a toy for a local children's hospital.  So the customer buys the toy and gives it to these capitalist scumbags who then hold a big media event to show how THEY are giving toys to poor children at the holidays.

The church pulls that kind of shit constantly.  They collect your money, give some of it out to the poor ( I'm sure they keep a cut for "expenses") and take the credit for what you did.

See it now?

And yeah - the republicans use forced pregnancy to oppress women.

I edited to add, Min.

But that still doesn't make any sense, even if that's how it always worked in the Church. Which it isn't, as I just demonstrated.

In your example above, you're still holding that the people and the charities who volunteer their time to collect money should receive 0 credit. My husband just recently did this for the Air Force. He and a few other of his co workers put together an event and made posters and stood outside of Walmart in the cold on an entire Saturday to collect toys for tots. You're telling me none of that counts?
