What does it say about our country and its electorate that we elected a kindergarten president?   And I suspect that would be far from the worst thing that could be justifiably said of our electorate based on the kind of trumpish behavior it would on the whole allow without impeachment in the next 4 years.

I am sure any group that would click their heels, stiffen their arms, and yell "Heil trump!", Or lead breathlessly the chorus of "trump is America, America is trump" would gain this buffoon's approval for sitting in the front row.

Shows how incompetent Trump is as fascists go. He should have used the thin end of the wedge approach with the media. Attack them at one a time, starting with the smallest who don't take their access for granted. These are still corporations that Trump is dealing with and they still care about profits. Once each one falls into line, then you can move onto the bigger players.

You can't just wage war on the entire mainstream media in one go. But it shows how little skill the administration has. They just expect unadulterated power and haven't yet got it.

Fact is that both Trump and the mainstream media need each other. Imagine how it would work out for him if his press conferences and briefings weren't covered at all on any TV channels or newspapers?

It has nothing to do with government by the people. Who elected the NYT or CNN? Why do they have special access denied to ordinary citizens? Maybe at one time the NYT earned the right to sit in the front row. Now they don't...and for good reason.

You know who gets to decide who attends a press conference?

Hint: It's not the government. Because the next step is the government deciding what the news is.

I mean, unless you are a-ok with government sponsored news, you know, like Russian and North Korea have.  Are you OK with that, Neo?  So far, it seems like you are, as long as "your side" gets to be the ones deciding what the news is.

Access to the POTUS is a privilege, not a right. As far as I can tell, the NYT and CNN are still free to print and broadcast whatever they want.
