It would be easy for us to tangle over words here. I'd much rather look at the concepts behind the words. Would you say belief is the acceptance of possibilities based on incomplete facts, and once the facts are complete (justified), that is knowledge.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
